Under the background of the 1940s, the theory of modern Chinese novels began its concern about the “nationalization” of the novel. Although some novel theorists in this period had a more in-depth discussion on the issue of “nationalization,” the persistence of the war, especially the powerful call of ideology, caused the overwhelming majority of theorists to popularize the “nationalization” of the novel And popular understanding. This puts the emphasis on “nationalization” in wartime novel theory into the misunderstanding of revolutionary utilitarianism. In contrast, theorists hovering beyond ideology have shown profound theoretical and intellectual values.
