The prevalence of consumer spending in the new drama and the tastes of Hua Dan play had an important influence on the opera production of Mei Lanfang so that it produced a series of epic costumes adapted to this consumer preference and new costumes suitable for flower blouses play. After being favored by consumers, these new plays in turn spark the consumer’s “new play” preference. It can be seen that the rise and fall of the opera is closely related to the preferences of most consumers. The production of opera should be compatible with the prevailing consumer preferences and the development trend of the consumer market. Therefore, at the moment when the opera is accelerating the marketization and industrialization, the production of opera should respect and satisfy the consumers’ preference preference. The opera criticism should also give more public opinion support to the commercial performance.
