雷峰塔地宫出土的玉童子像被解释为善财童子,似有不妥(见本刊2002年第5期《杭州雷峰塔遗址考古发掘及意义》一文)。此像可清楚地看到童子穿右衽交领短袍,下着长靴,双手叉腰,从衣着和姿态看,表现的是西域人物装束的童子在跳舞;尽管身侧有祥云,台座是须弥山纹饰,但这是玉工们按习惯所套用的吉祥纹样,并不意味着突出佛教的须弥山和人物的佛教身份。
It seems that there is something wrong with Yutongzi excavated in Leifeng Pagoda (see article No. 5, 2002, “Archaeological Excavation and Significance of Hangzhou Leifeng Pagoda Site”). This image can clearly see the boy wearing right 衽 cross-collar shorts, under the boots, hands akimbo, from the clothing and posture, the performance of the Western costumes boy dancing; despite the side clouds, the base is Xu Mi Shan However, this is the auspicious pattern that the jade workers use according to their custom. It does not mean that they should pay attention to the Buddhist identity of the Buddhist monks and nuns.
