Objective To observe the preventive effect of aseptic polyethylene film eye care on corneal diseases in patients with severe coma. Methods A total of 175 patients with severe coma admitted to the First Central Hospital of Baoding from June 2014 to June 2016 were randomly divided into control group (n = 85) and observation group (n = 90) using random number table. The control group of patients with 3 M stick to the eyelid applicator, the observation group of patients with sterile polyethylene film for dressing, two groups of patients were treated for 14 days. Eyelid closure was compared between the two groups. Interventions within one week, two weeks, the loss of samples and the degree of corneal lesions. Results There was no significant difference in the incidence of eyelid insufficiency between the two groups (P> 0.05). There was no significant difference in the rate of sample loss between the two groups in one week and two weeks after intervention (P> 0.05). In the observation group, the improvement of corneal lesions within 1 week and 2 weeks was better than that of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Aseptic polyethylene film eye care can effectively reduce the severity of corneal lesions in patients with coma.
