由于制造中的机组对于(例如蒸汽发生器)愈来愈大,人们对机组运行时辅机的电力消耗也就愈来愈注意。其中蒸汽发生器的风机用电特别受到重视。为了降低风机的电力消耗,对风道压降必须进行测试,并用多种方法使风道弯头成为最佳结构来减少压降。目前对压降的计算已经进行了很多工作。通过安装各种各样的导向件,已有可能改善风道弯头中的流动条件。不过这些工作大部分是很专门的试验,设计人员很难在较短时间内使用这些试验的结果。以试验作为基础,从而规定工作的基本条件和制订标准,这是确定风道弯头结构时应该考虑的。
