When I first came to Beijing, I was a vegetarian. This has not changed since I was 16 years old and I have never had any plans to change. When I came to China, I quickly realized that the “vegetarian stage” could not be continued. You told the waiter “Do not eat meat”, they will still be served with minced meat tofu, or you want to eggplant soup will be floating a little bit of meat. Once in Yunnan, I actually had some slices of ham in the tofu.
