中国电影创作伊始,电影观便很明确,即:教化社会,其目的是“匡时弊,正人心”,强调电影的宣传教育功能忽略电影的感性娱乐功能。所以类型片的创作尤其是恐怖片的创作,一直处于收敛的状态。直到 1937年,中国才出现恐怖片,即马徐维邦导演的《夜半歌声》。而且这部具有典型的商业片面目的电影,得以出台被评论界和社会大众接受却在于它巧妙的装载了一颗反帝反封建的意识形态内核。一部极具商业元素 At the beginning of the creation of Chinese cinema, the concept of cinema is very clear, namely: to enlighten society, its purpose is “to bring about problems of the times and to serve the public” and emphasizes that the function of publicity and education of films ignores the emotional and recreational functions of cinema.
