A lot of tombs of the Eastern Zhou period have been excavated by Chenzhou Prefecture Office for the Preservation of Cultural reclics. Nine earthen shaft tombs with second-tiers, head niches and pottery Li-tripods are reported here. The conbination of the funeral objects are li-tripod, guanjar and don-vessle, li-tripod, bo-bowl and don-vessel; and li-tripod, guan-jar and hu-pot. The tombs are dated to the late Spring and Automn and early and middle Warring States period. The excavation has provided important materials to the study of Chu culture and its relationships with Yue culture.
