Objective To investigate the relationship between serum heat stress protein 70 (HSP70) levels and the incidence of T2DM in Hui and Han nationalities in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Methods 201 cases of T2DM patients (T2DM group) and 201 healthy subjects (NC group) were collected by case-control study. Serum levels of HSP70 were detected by ELISA. Results The expression of HSP70 protein in T2DM group was significantly higher than that in NC group [(0.147 ± 0.126) vs (0.110 ± 0.113) ng / ml] (t = 3.066, P = 0.002). Patients with high serum HSP70 expression T2DM risk was 2.307 times lower expression. The serum level of HSP70 in Hui population was higher than that in Han population [(0.145 ± 0.130) vs (0.114 ± 0.111) ng / ml] (t = 2.591, P = 0.010) The levels of HSP70 in abdominal obesity, non-abdominal obesity T2DM group and NC group were significantly lower than those in NC group [(0.152 ± 0.128) vs (0.128 ± 0.119) vs (0.111 ± 0.121) ng / ml] = 0.005). Conclusion The expression of HSP70 in T2DM patients is significantly higher than that in healthy people, and the high risk of T2DM is higher in T2DM patients than in low expression ones. The serum level of HSP70 in Hui population is higher than Han nationality, and the risk of high expression of HSP70 is also higher than that in Han population. Abdominal obesity T2DM serum HSP70 expression levels higher than the normal population. Serum HSP70 levels may be one of the important factors affecting the prevalence of T2DM.
