Objective To investigate the stress response of divers during deep saturation diving. Methods The colorimetric method was used to detect the concentrations of urinary 17-OHCS in 24 hours of divers in different stages of diving. The contents of urinary catecholamine (CA), epinephrine (A) and norepinephrine (NA) The content of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), testosterone (T), growth hormone (GH) and cortisol (F) in plasma before and after the diving were measured by radioimmunoassay. Results The levels of 17-OHCS, CA, A, NA and the levels of ACTH, FSH, T, GH and F at the saturated exposure stage were significantly higher than those before diving (P <0.05-0.01). CONCLUSIONS Deep-depth on-site saturation diving can cause divers’ stress response
