PURPOSE: To compare the differences in atherosclerosis between type 2 diabetes and hypertension. Aims to explore the clinical significance of ultrasound in the detection of type 2 diabetes in patients with atherosclerosis. Methods: The carotid artery and inferior extremity artery wall diameter, intima-media thickness, plaque, and related blood flow parameters in 58 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and 60 patients with essential hypertension were measured. The related blood flow parameters Compared. Results: The diameter of the posterior tibial artery and the thickness of intima of the lower extremity in diabetic group. Posterior tibial artery, dorsal dorsal peak blood flow compared with the control group was statistically significant. Retinal retinal central artery systolic peak and other related changes in blood flow parameters compared with the control group were significantly different. Conclusion: Ultrasound has a high clinical significance in the routine detection of the lower limb posterior tibial artery, dorsalis pedis artery and retinal artery in diabetic patients
