近年来,随着信息技术的发展和新课程改革的进行,中学地理教学方式也发生了很大变化,教学过程中不再仅仅利用地图、幻灯片、多媒体等无法真正体现学生在教学中主体性的教学工具了,地理信息技术的应用成为必然的趋势,而作为地理信息技术的高端技术的地理信息系统,在中学地理教学中的应用也成为必然。本文着重探讨了地理信息系统的部分重要功能,地理信息系统引入中学地理教学的原因,以及在中学地理教学中的应用举例。
