用沉降平衡法确定低相对分子质量(Mr=1×104~7.2×104)及高相对分子质量(Mr=3.1×105~1.5×106)透明质酸(HA)的特性黏度([η])和Mr。两种HA,其[η]对Mr的双对数图显示出不同的线性。低Mr的HA,[η]=3.0×10-6×Mr 1.20,对高Mr的HA来说,[η]=5.7×10-4×Mr 0.76。两线交叉点的HA Mr大约为1.5×105。Mr小于2.1×104的HA,其流变性(比浓黏度)与浓度无关;而大于5.7×104的HA,其流变性(比浓黏度)随浓度的增大而增加。
