“礼经三百,威仪三千”是孔子论礼的重要命题,它讨论的是学习礼经书本和践行礼容威仪之间的辩证关系,而贯穿其中的则是君子的品德修养问题。经过七十子及其后学的不断阐释,该命题的文本面貌与微言大义均发生变化,并对汉初今文礼学思想分化产生了深远影响。西汉末,刘歆对该命题加以利用,在《七略》礼类小序中将“礼经”概念由《仪礼》改换成《周礼》,郑玄、孔颖达相继坐实,终成学术史上一段公案。
