形容词是英汉两种语言及其语法构词中最活跃也是最重要的词类之一,但同时也是最不容易掌握和使用的词类之一。英汉两种语言在形容词的构成方式、句法功能和位置三个方面有很大的差异,英汉形容词的翻译和写作教学中的常见问题主要体现在概念化形容词的“过分类推”错误、形容词一词多义现象的不正确处理、形容词前置和后置带来的意义差异的处理,以及在翻译中对形容词如何灵活处理上。
Adjectives are one of the most active and important parts of both English and Chinese and their grammatical constructions, but they are also one of the most difficult to grasp and use. The two languages of English and Chinese have great differences in terms of composition, function and location of adjectives. The common problems in the translation and writing teaching of English and Chinese adjectives are mainly the “over-analogy” error of conceptualized adjectives The improper treatment of word polysemy, the treatment of the difference of meaning brought by preposition and postposition of adjectives, and the flexible treatment of adjectives in translation.
