随着越来越多的教育机构和组织采用远程教育和网上学习模式进行教学,网络传递的课程数量也在持续增长。为了满足日益增长的这种需要,教育机构和组织应该为员工提供员工培训和发展的机会,帮助他们在开放和远程教育环境中发挥作用。远程教育的教学人员和辅导教师应该通过接受培训来学习如何促进网上学习、如何照顾学生的个体差异、如何为学生提供反馈、如何主持学生间的互动交流、如何激励学生、如何鼓励学生主动学习和有效沟通,以及如何使用新的教学传递技术。当开放和远程教育机构聘用新员工的时候,要鉴别其现有专长,并将其现有能力与岗位要求进行比较。如有不足,则应为其提供相应培训。否则,便可直接进入新的岗位。在员工的工作中,还需要监控他们的工作绩效,从中发现不足,并为员工提供必要的知识和技能训练,来弥补其工作中的不足。未来的岗位培训和职业发展培训体系必须为员工提供及时的培训,以便使其能获得在职学习机会。同时,还应有专家通过训练和辅导来提供反馈和指导,以及利用网上系统和智能化辅导系统的自动化功能来实现培训。而培训系统应当采用学习目标理论,使计算机系统能根据要求整合培训材料,并且为特定任务选择辅助工具。
