Objective: To investigate the changes of plasma endothelin (ET), renin activity (PRA) and angiotensin II (ATII) levels in patients with cirrhosis before and after TIPS. Methods: Fifty-four patients with clinically diagnosed cirrhosis were randomly divided into 24 cases of TIPS group and 30 cases of control group. Radioimmunoassay was used to determine the changes of plasma endothelin (ET), renin activity (PRA), angiotensin II (ATII) before and after TIPS and 30 control subjects before and after TIPS and 30 normal controls in 24 cirrhosis patients. ) Content. Results: The levels of endothelin (ET), renin activity (PRA), and angiotensin II (ATII) in 54 cirrhotic patients were significantly higher than those in the normal control group before and after treatment (P <0.01 01). There were no significant differences in plasma endothelin (ET), renin activity (PRA) and angiotensin II (ATII) concentrations between TIPS group and control group before and after treatment (P> 0.05) In control group, the levels of plasma endothelin (ET), renin activity (PRA), and angiotensin II (ATII) were measured again after treatment in February. The plasma endothelin (ET), renin activity (PRA) and angiotensin II (ATII) concentrations in TIPS group were significantly lower than before and after treatment (P> 0.01). The plasma endothelin (ET), renin activity (PRA) and angiotensin II (ATII) concentrations in the control group did not decrease significantly after treatment, but there was no significant difference between before and after treatment (P> 0.05). Conclusion: TIPS can reduce the effect of plasma endothelin (ET), renin activity (PRA), angiotensin II (ATII)
