Preamble: The beginning of the Internet was mainly for the military, education, research services, so the IPv4 address as an important Internet resources in the early did not get the public’s attention. However, with the rapid development of the global Internet commercialization in the late 1990s, the problem of uneven allocation of IPv4 address resources and lack of address resources has become increasingly evident. For example, in the United States, with 300 million people and 170 million Internet users, it has an IPv4 address equivalent to 75 Class A addresses. China has a population of 1.3 billion and more than 100 million Internet users, but only has more than 50 million IPv4 addresses. Only Equivalent to three Class A addresses. With the development of the Internet in other developing countries around the world, many of these countries will face the problem of lack of IPv4 addresses similar to those in China. Moreover, the imbalance in the allocation of IPv4 addresses has been difficult to change. The emergence of IPv6 shows us the hope of resolving this problem. Given that IPv6 has many incomparable advantages of IPv4, IPv6 development in many developed countries has started. A few developing countries such as China have also begun to promote the development of IPv6. Especially since 2004, with the rapid development of IPv6 in some countries and regions in the world, there have been some new developments in the development of IPv6. This issue of IPv6 not only details the progress of IPv6 in China, but also shows the readers the features and applications that are being introduced and will be launched in various countries and the active exploration of IPv6 in various countries.
