高炉冶炼钒钛铁矿或劣质铁矿后,渣铁分离需要更多时间。但由于生产需要,高炉追求高产,而高炉提高产量后铁水流速增加,渣铁在大沟内停留的时间缩短,所以大沟尺寸需要校核,从而与相应高炉更加吻合。通过调节渣沟高度来校核大沟的尺寸,使大沟的尺寸与对应的高炉更加吻合,从而保护淬渣设备,减小渣中含铁量,并减小渣沟溜嘴处“打炮”的概率。
