In Hong Kong’s film market in 2013, Hong Kong co-productions have become the absolute mainstay of mainland box office films. Hong Kong’s local films have been sluggish and underperforming. Unlike the Mainland, the Hong Kong movie market is still dominated by Hollywood. In 2013, Hong Kong films showed distinctive characteristics in the industrial structure. The overall quality of co-production films was enhanced. Hong Kong and filmmakers in the Mainland were more closely co-operating with reality. The pattern of large-scale and small-medium cost production and dance, The ever-maturing marketing mode, constant attempts of new technologies and positive attention to and contemplation of the current social reality in China all make the cooperation between the film industry and the film industry grow ever deeper. In particular, Hong Kong co-productions play an active role in promoting the market and film art creation, laying a solid foundation for the development and growth of the entire Chinese-language film industry.
