Thirty years later, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization reiterates its call on all countries to ensure that their national regulatory framework for pesticide management is up to date. Although remarkable progress has been made since the Code was promulgated, knowledge of the long-term health and environmental impacts of pesticides is well known and it is widely recognized that adverse effects of trade in agricultural products can be adversely affected if poorly managed pesticides.
