As a teacher, a bad day may start when you hear students asking the same questions you’ve just explained. The day may get worse when you see students making the same mistakes you’ve just corrected. At this moment, when you become angry, have you ever paused for one second and thought about the fact that they are just kids?
As kids, sure, they can be annoying. They might talk too loud, move too fast, think too much yet share too little. However, getting past this surface, you’ll see that they are kids with beautiful possibilities to explore.
They are kids who have little dreams living inside. Gathering the courage along the way, they are just trying to ask the simple question “Why not?”; they are just beginning to question the answers and they’re just starting to doubt the golden rule.
Besides dreamers, they are also kids who have bright halos (光環) and soft wings. Fighting for an eraser continuously, they are showing you the honesty that they haven’t learned to mask. Handing you a bar of chocolate, they are presenting you the treasure of the whole world with the highest generosity(慷慨).
Therefore, my fellow friends, please be a little more patient, a little more curious, and a little more careful. Because one day, if you come closer, you’ll hear laughter; you’ll see smiles; you’ll understand they are just kids.
