According to the statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics, from 2007 to 2011, the contribution of China's food prices to the CPI surpassed 70% in 42 months, indicating that the price of food has become the major promoter of CPI's record highs in recent years. Although the current inflation situation has eased, given the likely rise in food prices to non-food products, there is still concern that a rise in food prices could lead to full-scale inflation.
