This paper argues that the evolution of a gradual system is an evolutionary process that can be explained by “generalized Darwinism ”. In our opinion, the advanced cognitive abilities of human beings help them to understand institutional changes from an evolutionary perspective. Cognitive abilities, cognitive schemata and perceptions are central to the understanding of the establishment and evolutionary speed of human institutions and their evolution, based on the constantly emerging new variations that build on the functioning of the selection and replication mechanisms. Therefore, evolution provides us with a broad theoretical framework that integrates research questions on cognitive abilities, concepts and decisions, and other related literature on the evolution of institutionalized studies and human evolution.
