我对汉语新诗的整体状况有一个私人的判断,即这一百年来,中国并不缺少好诗人甚至大诗人,但真正足以与这种状况相匹配的大批评家,则似乎一个也无。如今的诗歌批评家中最优秀的几位,固然可以称得上勤勉称职,却并无足够的机缘与能力走在更遥远的前头,为向未来敞开的可能性提供必要的想象,也无法撬动业已建立的经典格局和评判秩序,重新为汉语诗“立法”。即便水准勉强相称,他们在与这个时代最好诗人的持续“角力”中,无论是赞赏还是讥讽,
I have a personal judgment on the overall condition of Chinese new poetry. In this century, there is no shortage of good poets and even big poets in China.
