In combination with Recommendation G.9983 of ATM-based Passive Optical Network (APON), a Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol that enables simultaneous voice, general ATM and IP service access is proposed. Through modeling and simulation, the delay and delay performance of the protocol are analyzed.
