苏州人重乡贤,重苏州文脉,自古而然。明代吴门鼎盛的收藏风气中,重文脉即是其中重要的一项。生于一八九四年的吴湖帆,是晚清苏州名宦吴大澂的裔孙,幼承家学,很早就显露出在书画方面的才华。尽管吴湖帆一九二四年即迁居上海,此后大部分时间也生活在上海,但作为苏州籍鉴藏家,吴湖帆在他的鉴赏和收藏活动中,都极好地承袭了苏州文脉。这表现为一是收藏 Suzhou heavy people Yin, re-Suzhou context, since ancient times.
