The shell material targeted with beryllium deuteride BeD2 containing a small amount of copper is discussed. The shell parameters of the target ensuring ignition of the DT fuel and the X-ray pulse shape of the irradiated target were selected. It shows that when the target parameter is the best, its thermonuclear release energy is ~ 19MJ, which is equivalent to the thermal nucleus release energy of beryllium shell target.
