是否全世界全人类都要经历西方现代艺术那样的“阶段”?是否全世界都要走到西方现代文化?即,本文现代文化是否具有普世性?我的回答是否定的。西方文化并不放之四海皆可行,西方现代艺术亦然。假如全世界都搞同样的“现代”艺术,那将是一种多么荒诞而悲哀的景象！因此我们可以理直气壮地用中国自己的文化艺术标准去评价世界各地的艺术,不必以人家之是非为是非,而可以自信地说,此谓美善,彼谓丑恶。违背自己的文化精神,硬着头皮去艺术“现代化”,与西方“接轨”同化,不仅毫无意义,而且愚不可及。
Is all mankind in the world going through such “phases” of modern Western art? Is the whole world going to Western modern culture? Is this modern culture universal? My answer is no. Western culture is not universally applicable, Western modern art as well. If all the world engaged in the same “modern” art, it will be a kind of absurd and sad scene! Therefore, we can confidently use the standards of China’s own arts and culture to evaluate the art in various parts of the world. We should confidently say that it is good and evil and that we should be ugly. Contrary to one’s own cultural spirit, bite the bullet and go to the “modernization” of the arts and assimilation with the West is not only pointless but also beyond reach.
