本文通过对国内外火炮发展趋势、炮钢标准的演变及炮钢冶金工艺的创新等情况的综合分析后指出:目前,我国厚壁炮钢正处在一个从中强度到高强度的重大转折时期,新型火炮的设计对身管材料的综合力学性能要求大大提高。然而正是在这种情况下,必须克服单纯追求高强度来保证安全的思想,而应转向既保证正常射击安全又能防止突然事故发生,在满足强度允许范围条件下,采用商塑性高韧性钢的设计思想。同时,为了使火炮设计与炮钢技术协调发展,迅速使我国的火炮达到更新换代要求,本文的论述以唤起人们对这个问题的重视是十分必要的。
