Aristotle’s political ethics is full of inherent tension. This tension is manifested in many aspects such as the formation of a city-state, the purpose of existence of a city-state, the choice of a city-state polity, the principle of maintaining the stability and order of a city-state, the attitude toward political conflicts within a city-state. The root of this tension is, first and foremost, the internalization of tension inherent in philosophy and politics in its political ethics. Secondly, the tension of its philosophical ideas such as metaphysics, anthropology, epistemology, teleology, etc. in its political ethics reflect. This internal tension does not mean that Aristotle is self-contradictory in political ethics. On the contrary, he deliberately maintains the tension between the ideal of this philosophy and the reality of political life, because it is precisely politics The essence of ethics.
