在朱舜水东渡之前,日本弥漫着空疏学风,佛教和禅化的朱子学占据主导地位。舜水在明亡后赴日乞师,无奈居留二十余年,却得以延续中华慧命于异邦。他传播“实学”思想,积极反佛排佛,并培养大批人才,深刻改变了日本社会和文化;开启德川一代儒学,终使日本成为儒教国家;同时他也是明治维新思想的先驱者。朱舜水在一定程度上以中国文化精神改铸了日本,向日人展现了中国文化的伟大与殊胜,对中华文化的周边扩散做出了重要贡献。
Prior to Zhu Shunsui’s eastward transition, Japan was filled with a clear-cut style of learning and Buddhism and Zen Buddhism dominates. After the death of the Ming Dynasty, Shun Shui went to Japan to help teachers and resigned for more than 20 years. He disseminated the idea of “real learning”, actively opposed Buddhism to Buddhism, trained a large number of talents, profoundly changed Japanese society and culture, opened a generation of Confucianism in Tokugawa and eventually made Japan a Confucian state, and at the same time he also pioneered the Meiji Restoration Thought . To a certain extent, Zhu Shunshui transformed Japan with Chinese culture and demonstrated the greatness and superiority of Chinese culture to the Japanese people. He made an important contribution to the spread of the Chinese culture.
