Mass media is one of the important ways for people to understand athletes. However, due to the limitations of traditional concepts, the mass media currently have some problems in disseminating female athletes, such as the small number of reports and the deviations from the performance of the games, which bring adverse effects on their images. Based on the characteristics of mass media, this paper analyzes the reasons for the poor image construction of female athletes, and proposes to strengthen the supervision of policies and regulations to improve the self-cultivation of female athletes and optimize the awareness of “guarding people” so as to enhance the image of female athletes.
