随着西部少数民族人口大量流入城市,做好新形势下的城市民族工作,离不开一批知乡情、懂乡音、会双语的少数民族干部人才。湖北省委、省政府认真贯彻中央民族工作会议和全国城市民族工作会议精神,将广泛吸纳培养新疆、西藏籍高校毕业生在湖北创业就业作为加强城市民族工作的一项重要举措,紧紧围绕“能留下”“有发展”“作表率”三个关键环节做文章,着力打造一支在鄂新疆、西藏籍少数民族干部人才队伍,取得了较好成效。
