He was a key figure in the continuity and pioneering spirit during the transition from the classical period to the Baroque period. His keyboard sonata, novel, diverse and full of creativity, made an important contribution to the development of keyboard music. This dissertation focuses on the chronology and pairing of Scarlatti keyboard sonatas, as well as the structure, style and features of sonatas.
