海峡两岸经贸关系经过20年的发展,逐步形成了互补互利、日益紧密的经贸合作格局。两岸贸易额从1979年的0.77亿美元,增加到1999年的257亿美元,20年间,两岸贸易总额已超过1600亿美元。截至1999年底,台商在大陆投资项目43945个,合同金额446.7亿美元,实际投资240亿美元,占大陆引进外商投资总额的7.8％。目前,大陆已成为台湾第三大贸易伙伴,第二大出口市场和台商最理想的投资地区,台湾则成为大陆第五大贸易伙伴和第二大外资来源地。2000年,随着世界和亚太地区经济景气的强劲回升,特别是两岸即将加入世贸组织,海峡两岸经贸关系面临新的发展机遇。
After 20 years of economic and trade relations between the two sides of the strait, a pattern of mutually beneficial and increasingly close economic and trade cooperation has been gradually formed. The cross-Strait trade volume increased from 77 million U.S. dollars in 1979 to 25.7 billion U.S. dollars in 1999. Over the 20 years, the total cross-Strait trade volume has exceeded 160 billion U.S. dollars. By the end of 1999, Taiwan businessmen had invested 43,945 projects in the Mainland with the contract value of 44.67 billion U.S. dollars and the actual investment of 24 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 7.8% of the total foreign investment brought by the mainland. At present, the mainland has become the third largest trading partner, the second largest export market and the most desirable investment area for Taiwan businessmen. Taiwan has become the mainland’s fifth largest trading partner and the second largest source of foreign investment. In 2000, with the strong rebound in the economic climate of the world and the Asia-Pacific region, especially the two sides will soon join the WTO, the economic and trade relations between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits will face new opportunities for development.
