Thematic Progression acts as an important element helping the literary writer in constructing the discourse. To study the patterns of thematic progression the writer used under a certain literary context will help the readers obtain the writing skills of the work. Through the analysis of The Story of My Life by the view of thematic progression, this paper will help the readers get a further understand on the patterns of thematic progression in arranging the content of a discourse.
