Proteoglycan-induced mouse arthritis model (PGIA) is a small, systemic autoimmune spondyloarthropathy produced by immunization of human articular cartilage-derived proteoglycans with certain sublines of BALB / c mice or C3H mice Mouse model. This model is the only systemic autoimmune mouse model that infringes on the central axis bone system, and has become a hot research topic in animal model of spinal arthritis. The purpose of this paper is to review the domestic and foreign PGIA related literature, generalized the PGIA animal model induction, phenotypic identification, immunological characteristics and ossification-related signaling pathways, etc., to provide a theoretical basis for the study of animal models of spinal arthritis.
