Peripheral venous catheterization peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) has been widely used in clinical practice, and catheter rupture is the most serious complication. The incidence of catheter rupture is 0.1% ~ 3.5% ~ ([1]). Fibrin sheath-related catheter dysfunction is one of the most common long-term complications of long-term PICC placement, such as catheter blockage, exudation, catheter loss of function, and catheter-dependent thrombosis (2). No cases of ductal fibrin sheath formation leading to extubation have been reported. A case of fibrin sheath in our hospital now leads to difficult catheter extubation
