《普通高中数学课程标准》增加了数学史方面的内容,以提高学习数学的兴趣,加深对数学的理解,让学生感受数学家的严谨态度和锲而不舍的探索精神。过去我们一直认为数学属于理科,学的应该是如何解题之类的方法技巧。而数学史更像是文科的内容,作为课外了解的扩充知识是可以的,成为正式的教学内容似乎没有必要。这种思想体现了我们一直以来对数学教育目的和内容的理解误区:只重视形式化的逻辑演绎能力的培养,而忽视了学习数学作为一门科学更内在的东西。下面我就数学史教学的教育功能作一下探讨。
“Ordinary high school math curriculum standards” to increase the content of the history of mathematics to improve the interest in learning mathematics, deepen the understanding of mathematics, so that students feel rigorous mathematician and perseverance of the spirit of exploration. In the past we always think that mathematics belongs to science, learning should be how to solve problems such as method skills. The history of mathematics is more like the content of liberal arts. It is possible to expand knowledge as an extra-curricular understanding. It seems unnecessary to become a formal teaching content. This kind of thinking embodies our erroneous understanding of the purpose and content of mathematics education all along: only focusing on the cultivation of the formal ability of logical deduction and neglecting to learn mathematics as a more intrinsic thing in science. Now I will explore the educational function of history teaching in mathematics.
