在明清时期,广州是重要的对外贸易港口城市。康熙年间,清政府授权十三行,主持和管理对外贸易。康熙年间,清宫造办处专门设立了玻璃厂。手工艺玻璃画是意大利传教士通过广州口岸传入中国的,存世数量非常少。《广州十三行商馆区》玻璃画,是一幅描绘港口风光的写实画作,画面留存了丰富的历史信息。是在摄影术发明之前,可以保存下来的珍贵历史影像。它鉴证了中国海上丝绸之路对外贸易的兴衰,具有很高的历史价值。
In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Guangzhou was an important foreign trade port city. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi, the Qing government authorized thirteen lines to preside over and manage foreign trade. Kangxi years, the Qing court set up a special glass factory. Handicraft glass painting is an Italian missionary into China through the Guangzhou port, a very small number of surviving. The glass painting of “Guangzhou Thirteen Commercial Pavilion Area” is a realistic painting depicting the scenery of the port. The pictures keep rich historical information. It is a precious historical image that can be preserved before the invention of photography. It has verified the rise and fall of China’s maritime Silk Road’s foreign trade and has a high historic value.
